 «ZуХЕL» replaces the self-recording system by the boxed system solution of Mobile SMARTS

ZyXEL— is the customer and operator equipment for the broadband access based on хDSL, Metro Ethernet, LTE and PON technologies, the systems of network security and professional wireless networks.

IT department ZYXEL has made a decision to step away from employing the self-recording software for combination MS SQL accounting system and data acquisition terminals. It ceased to meet the demands which were advanced by the equipment manufacturers. The system also could not manage to cope with the increasing delivery volume passed through the warehouse. The idea to carry on the development of the product was rejected by reason of inefficiency of such approach.

The enterprise has engaged in search for the boxed-system solution which can integrate rapidly into the given system at a minimum of adaptation. After the comparative analysis of the products in this segment the choice has been made in favor of Mobile SMARTS. It meets all set criteria: the simplicity of integration, rapidity and flexibility of manipulation, handy interface.

TASK

The task was to automatize the main manipulations in warehouse: commodity reception, its distribution and displacement in the warehouse. It was necessary to optimize the operation speed of program system in whole, to increase the rate of response and to decrease the amount of requested resources.

The new solution must provide the high quality of defense from errors to the activity execution. The errors on the side of client work result in huge wastes, because they are found out only after the freight has moved on thousands kilometers.

One more task was to localize the interface into foreign languages as the workers on the warehouse spoke English and Finnish. 

SOLUTION

Within a short time ZyXEL expert have replaced the old soft by the Mobile SMARTS. There already were the data acquisition terminals from Zebra enterprise on the warehouse (type 9060, discontinued).

The experts have realized the possibility of concurrent activity execution: commodity reception and distribution. The PAL function was introduced for the possibility of accounting and discharging in pallets. Earlier it was necessary to dismantle the pallets and to scan each box separately. Commodity reception is realized in pallets, and the commodity distribution – in pallets or in boxes.

With the help of Lang.txt the program interface was translated into English and then into Finnish (menu, inscriptions, help).

RESULT

The solution based on Mobile SMARTS let the enterprise accomplish a gradual shift on the new level of processing automatization. Efficiency of operations has increased essentially. Now reception execution does not require the participation of extra staff. Optimization has a positive economic effect. ZуХЕL Communications is satisfied with the chosen product.

ZyXEL— это абонентское и операторское оборудование для широкополосного доступа по технологиям хDSL, Metro Ethernet, LTE и PON, системы сетевой безопасности и профессиональные беспроводные сети.

ИТ-департамент ZYXEL принял решение отойти от использования самописного ПО для объединения учётной системы на MS SQL и терминалов сбора данных. Оно перестало отвечать требованиям, которые выдвигали производители оборудования. Также система не могла справляться с нарастающим объёмом проходимых через склад поставок. Идея продолжать развивать собственный продукт была отклонена, по причине непрактичности такого подхода.

Компания приступила к поискам коробочного решения, которое при минимальных доработках смогло бы быстро интегрироваться в существующую систему. После сравнительного анализа продуктов в этом сегменте, выбор был сделан в пользу Mobile SMARTS. Софт отвечает всем поставленным критериям: простота интеграции, скорость и гибкость операций, удобство интерфейса.

ЗАДАЧА

Стояла задача автоматизировать основные складские операции: приемку товара, размещение и перемещения товара на склад. Необходимо было оптимизировать скорость работы комплекса программ в целом, увеличить быстродействие и уменьшить количество требуемых ресурсов.

Новое решение должно качественно защищать выполнение операций от ошибок. Ошибки в условиях работы клиента выливаются в крупные убытки, потому что выявляются только после того как груз проезжает несколько тысяч километров.

Также особенностью была необходимая реализации интерфейса на иностранных языках, так как сотрудники склада были не русскоговорящие (английский и финский).

РЕШЕНИЕ

В короткий срок специалистами ZyXEL старый софт был заменён на Mobile SMARTS. На складе уже были терминалы сбора данных от компании Zebra (модель 9060, снята с производства).

Была реализована возможность параллельного выполнения операций: приемка товара и размещение товара. Введено понятие паллеты, для возможности учета и отгрузки паллетами, ранее приходилось разбирать паллеты и сканировать каждую коробку отдельно. Приемка товаров осуществляется паллетами, а размещение паллетами или по коробкам.

С помощью файла Lang.txt перевели интерфейс программы английский язык (меню, надписи, помощь), с последующим переводом на финский.

РЕЗУЛЬТАТ

Решение, основанное на Mobile SMARTS, позволило компании совершить плавный переход на новый уровень автоматизации бизнес-процессов. Эффективность операций существенно увеличилась. Теперь выполнение приёмок не требует привлечения дополнительного персонала. Оптимизация имеет положительный экономический эффект. В компании ZуХЕL Communications остались абсолютно довольны выбранным продуктом.
