The Armenian Prime Minister said the conflict in Karabakh to be unprecedented
Nikol Pashinyan announced perhaps the most decisive moment in the millennial history of the Armenian nation. In his opinion, attacking Karabakh, Baku and Ankara are trying to solve not only the territorial issue.
The Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan
Speaking to the nation and Armenians all over the world on Saturday, October 3, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated the people of Karabakh and of Armenia oppose “the Azerbaijani-Turkish terrorist attack, the scope and scale of which is unprecedented”. Pashinyan's video message was published on his Facebook.
According to him, such accidents have never happened in any of the conflict zones in the XXI century. “Hundreds of tanks and IFVs, thousands of shells and missiles, dozens of aircraft, hundreds of drones, hundreds of thousands of infantry are used,” – the Interfax quotes him as saying. Pashinyan pointed that at the same time the Syrian mercenaries and terrorists are involved in the conflict on the side of Azerbaijan and Turkey supporting it, and about 150 high-ranking Turkish servicemen are in charge of combat operations at various command posts of the Azerbaijani army.
Pashinyan: the purpose is the continuing the Armenian Genocide
The head of the government considers that today the Armenians must be “experiencing the most decisive moment” in their millennial history. Pashinyan is sure that the final goal of Baku and Ankara is not just the solution of the Karabakh issue. “Their goal is Armenians all over the world. They want to continue the policy of genocide of Armenians,” – as RBK quotes him. However, the head of the government noted that Armenia is able to defend itself to date.
Warfare in Nagorno-Karabakh
Combat over Nagorno-Karabakh between Armenia and Azerbaijan resumed on September 27 after Azerbaijan started a large-scale military operation on the line of contact, declaring a “counter-offensive” in order to “suppress military activity of the Armenian armed forces and ensure the security of civilians”.
According to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Azerbaijani army is bombing the settlements, including the capital of the unrecognized republic Stepanakert. Both sides report numerous casualties of the enemies in manpower and military equipment.
A martial law has been imposed in Azerbaijan, Armenia, and the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
