СПЛОШНОЕ НАДУВАТЕЛЬСТВО

Северные Вогезы - горная местность, находящаяся на территории Франции и Германии, - район, богатый достопримечательностями. Здесь расположены и Мец с его богатейшей историей, и Баден-Баден с его источниками, и Страсбург, в чьей архитектуре переплелись черты обеих стран... А в лесах по французскую сторону границы затерялась деревушка Сен-Луи-ле-Бич (от Меца порядка ста километров - час езды на машине), куда практически невозможно попасть случайно. Здесь и располагается завод по производству хрусталя «Cristallerie Royale de Saint Louis».

Образцов хрустальных изделий за двухсотлетнюю историю марки накопилось немало (что-то около семи тысяч экземпляров), и долгое время они безвестно пылились в кладовых. Все изменилось три года назад, когда на фабрике установили новую газовую печь, в связи с чем отпала необходимость в старой угольной и, соответственно, освободилось помещение. Там решено было открыть музей, а для реализации проекта пригласили архитектурное бюро «Lipsky + Rollet».

Кирпично-песчаный грот, где стояла когда-то печь, архитекторы оставили почти неизменным, только вписали внутрь деревянный короб, не касающийся ни стен, ни крыши (над которой, кстати, в свое время работал сам Гюстав Эйфель). Деревянные витрины - вовсе не дань актуальному экостилю. Хрусталь сам по себе материал волшебный: делается из обыкновенного песка, отливается в монструозных печах и беспощадно кромсается грубыми инструментами, а в итоге получается звенящий блеск, изящество и хрупкость. Потому-то Флоранс Липски и Паскаль Ролле и решили поиграть на контрастах. Две тысячи хрупких экспонатов заняли место на деревянных стеллажах. Еще пять тысяч, правда, остались пылиться в закромах, но руководство музея обещает, что экспозиция будет постоянно меняться и посетителям со временем удастся увидеть все, чем прославилась марка «Saint Louis».

 Blatant fraud

The northern Vosges – are Highlands, which are situated on the territory of France and Germany, - the region, that is rich in sights. Here are located Metz with its greatest history, Baden-Baden with its sources and Strasbourg, whose architecture comprises the features of both countries. In the forests, across the French boundaries the thorp Sen-Lui-Le Beach is hidden ( about 100 kilometers from Metz – a one hour drive), where you can’t get by chance. Here the plant for the crystal production «Cristallerie Royale de Saint Louis» is situated.

A great amount of  patterns of crystalware were collected for the history of two hundred years (about seven hundred specimens),  and they were getting dusty in storerooms for a long time. Three years ago everything changed when a new gas-furnace was installed in the factory, and that’s why there was no need in using the old coal one, accordingly, the accommodation became free. It was settled to open a museum there, and the architectural bureau office “Lipsky+Rollet” were invited to launch the project.

 The architects left almost unnoticeable the sandy-brick grot, where the furnace used to be placed, they only put a wooden box inside, that didn’t touch either the walls or the roof ( at which, by the way, the very Gustave Eiffel in due time worked). Wooden windows isn’t  a tribute to the actual ecostyle. Crystal is itself a miraculous material: it is made of common sand, is cast in enormous furnaces and is shred savagely by rough tools, and finally clinking glitter, refinement and fragility come out. That was the reason, why Florence Lipski and Paskal Roller were determined to use contrasting play . Two thousand of  brittle exhibits took place of  wooden shelves. However, another five thousands were left to get dusty in the garner, but the leaders of the museum promise, that the exposition will constantly change and in time visitors will be able to see everything, what the brand “Saint Louis” is famous for.
